January 27th – Ten years after its initial release, “Paul’s Boutique” by The Beastie Boys was certified double-platinum by the R.I.A.A. on this day in 1999.

The album, originally released in 1989 on Capitol Records, produced the hit single “Hey Ladies”.

“Paul’s Boutique” was produced by The Dust Brothers, Mario Caldato Jr. and the Beasties as well.

“Paul's Boutique” also contained cult favorite tracks like, “Egg Man”, “Shake Your Rump” and “The Sounds Of Silence”.

Public Enemy front man Chuck D has called it one of the greatest hip-hop albums of all time.
