October 12th – Salt ‘N’ Pepa release their fourth album, “Very Necessary”, on Next Plateau Records, on this day in 1993.

It would be their biggest selling album ever, selling seven million copies worldwide.

“Very Necessary” would also contain some of their biggest hit singles like, “Shoop” and “Whatta Man”, featuring En Vogue which peaked at no.3 on the pop charts.

“Whatta Man” would also appear on En Vogue’s 1993 EP “Runaway Love”.

“Very Necessary” was produced by Salt-N-Pepa and longtime collaborator Hurby “Luv Bug” Azor.
