July 26th – Eric B And Rakim release their classic gold-selling sophomore album, “Follow The Leader”, on Uni Records, on this day in 1988.

“Follow The Leader” was produced by Eric B And Rakim with additional production by Stevie “Blass” Griffin, Rakim’s brother.

“Follow The Leader” spawned the classic hit singles, “Microphone Fiend” and the James Bond sounding title track.

“Follow The Leader” would also contain classic album cuts like, “The R”, “Musical Massacre” and “Lyrics Of Fury”.

“Follow The Leader” would be the legendary duo’s first album for Uni, a subsidiary of MCA, after leaving 4th and B’Way Records which released their classic debut album “Paid In Full” which changed the face of hip-hop music the previous year.
