Channel Zero -- Intro

By WJMSTV

"I'm Kali, a producer, yeah, yeah yeah a producer ... Producing TV is hard work, I'm the guy behind the scenes, the producer who works with the number one video show. I produce Channel Zero.

"Everyone asks me what it's like hanging out with an artist for a day. Hey, it's cool, but it's a lot of work, I'm not about to hype it up.

"I'm gonna let you in on how I spent my summer working.

"At the start of the summer I shot this dope commercial for Existo XXIVII (24-7).

"It was a crazy 48 hours, I had a shoot for Channel Zero on Friday. I left work and went to a listening party for a new recording artist. But my groove was broken when I got a call from the stylist who had locked all the clothes from the shoot in her car and was without money because her purse was locked in the car too. She caught a cab to the club, I gave her money for a locksmith to open her car."

Saturday afternoon -

"We closed down the streets and arrived on the set at four o'clock. It was a cool assignment, we brought in Beverly Peele for the guys and Stanley Cuevas for the girls. When it got dark, we rolled our cameras.

"The shoot was so tight, all I had to do was to sit in my car and talk to my Boo. After we finished the shoot it was six o'clock Sunday morning, so I took the director of photography and two assistants to breakfast for cheese eggs, steak and Welch's grape. Up for 48 hours, I made it to my place. I was ready to crash, when the hotel called to say they needed an imprint of my credit card. Oh Snap, damn it.

"I had to go back to the hotel I had just left two hours ago. Then we dropped the film to the lab for processing. It was time for me to head out for a Channel Zero assignment, after two days of editing and another day of post production sound, it was finished. Damn, I can't say it was me ... a Shout-out to Michael Joyner in DC and Mikey in Brooklyn who put the images down on "The Collector"."

"In July, I produced a special on the making of Puffy's music video for the song PE 2000. The video features guest appearances with Chuck D, Kyle Jason and Griff along with Flav.

"I hooked up with Porsche, this dancer, we went to the Shark bar and hung out then we ... ah we will leave this out for now.

"All in all it was a hot hot summer."
