Hip Hop Pioneer and Wireless Company form Powerful Alliance

New Digital Divide Strategies Give Hope to Urban Youth Coast to Coast

Oct. 10th 2003 CA- Chuck D and Rapstation.com are proud to announce a partnership recently Public Enemy and founder of Rapstation.com and Engineered Wireless Solutions Inc. (an Atlanta based Wireless Internet Service Utility specialized in the emergence of wireless network technologies. Engineered Wireless, recognized by wireless giants such as Lucent, Avaya and Karlnet for the superior intellectual capital and technological abilities have come together to form a not for profit solution to address cyber-segregation.

This union will be called The Urban Technology Project (UTP).

For years Chuck D has been at the forefront of technology as well as the importance of its utilization within the youth factor. Through Rapstation.com the strategic alliance with Engineered Wireless Solutions Inc., The Urban Technology Project will make a bold attempt to provide a solution to the digital divide. Urban Technology plans to be one of the most aggressive organizations committed to the leveraging of tools and services necessary in the effort to provide solutions to address cyber segregation. "Everyone at Rapstation is proud to be a part of this new venture" said Chuck D. " I think many new young minds will be touched by what we achieve."

Through the duplication of technological standards found in the Corporate American environment, Urban Technology will deploy value-add Technologies directly to the home of awarded recipients within an entire community.

The services will include Wireless Internet computers, Wireless Broadband Internet Access, Distant Learning applications, and what has been dubbed by Chuck D as Edutainment (designed to merge music and technology as a tool).

The plan of UTP is to ensure key factors and identify the likeness in business and home use, and then standardize on the deployment to awarded urban communities. With Project Funding always being the core of project delivery, The Executive Board of Director's of UTP have decided to work to assist pre-existing and established programs fulfill their goals such the United States Department's of Housing and Urban Development, Rural Housing Agency, Department of Commerce, Department of Education, National Conference of Mayor's, World Conference of Black Mayor's, White House's Faith Based Initiative, Native American Initiatives Housing and Schools, National Association of Hispanic, and numerous grass-root Community Development Corporations. Beginning Q1 of 2004, UTP is planning to roll out it's initiative in five cities; New York, Chicago, Atlanta, LA and Baltimore.
