Several Music Partners to Offer Free MP3s to Myplay
Users
Several online music companies have signed agreements to make
freely downloadable music available to users of web-based music
storage service myplay.com.
Myplay.com provides users with 250MB of free web server space, in
which they may store, manage and share copyright-protected digital
music files.
The service's new partners are Epitonic.com, iFUSE, KnitMedia
(operator of KnittingFactory.com and Jazze.com), ListenSmart.com,
The Orchard, Rapstation.com and SoundsBig.com. Terms of the
agreements were not released.
From each of the sites, myplay members will be able to select
certain MP3 files that they may click on and transfer to their
storage accounts. Visitors to the partner sites who wish to open
myplay accounts will be offered that option.
Since its launch in October 1999, myplay has struck similar
MP3-sharing agreements with numerous partners, including Artemis
Records, Atomic Pop, DreamWorks Records, EMusic.com, Listen.com and
Tunes.com.
