Good News For
Netscape Users (Site News) - Posted 12/3/1999 by Dave
Good news for all of you
readers that use Netscape. If you have been to this site
before, you may have noticed the Netscape ends up locking up
on you. Well after re-coding the whole website again, I have
gotten the problem fixed. The site should now load faster than
ever, at least on the main page. I have not converted all
pages over to the new code yet, but will be starting
tonight.
We also have some big news coming soon, stay
tuned for more on this...

Jigga Arrested
(raplyrix report) - Posted 12/3/1999 by Ryan
Rap artist Jay-Z turned
himself in today to local authorities. He was wanted by the
police in connection to the stabbing of producer Lance "Un"
Rivera. The incident took place at Q-Tip's album release
party. Rivera was treated and released Thursday. A possible
motive for the stabbing is the bootlegging of Jay'Z's new
album "Vol. 3... Life And Times Of S. Carter." In New York,
the bootleg version is being sold for 5 dollars. The sale of
bootleg versions can drastically effect the profit made on the
albums. The $5 cost looks a lot more attractive than the 12-18
at stores. This bottlegging can have a damaging effect on
Jay-Z's goal of one million copies sold in one week. This
would seem like a fairly good motive for commiting such a
crime but Jay-Z just doesn't seem like the type to do such a
thing. We hope Jigga is innocent of the crime that he has been
charged with. In addition, Jay-Z is out on bail for $50,000.
We will keep you posted.

Jay-Z Witnesses
Stabbing
- Posted 12/2/1999 by Ryan
Rapper Jay-Z is among the
possible witnesses currently being sought by New York City
police for questioning following a Wednesday (Dec. 1) night
stabbing incident that occurred at a record release party for
A Tribe Called Quest member Q-Tip's new solo album. Lance "Un"
Rivera, 33, the head of Gotham rap label Untertainment Music,
is being treated at New York's St. Vincent Hospital, where
he's listed in stable condition after being stabbed around
midnight by one or two unknown assailants at the party at
Manhattan's Kit Kat Club. A second victim, identified by
police only as a 29-year-old black man, was reportedly punched
in the face, but otherwise uninjured. A police spokesperson
said two unidentified black men in their 20s are being sought
as possible suspects but offered no other information. Jay-Z's
third album, titled Vol. 3... Life And Times Of S. Carter,
will be released by Roc-A-Fella/Def Jam/Island Records on Dec.

B.I.G. "Born
Again" -
Posted 12/1/1999 by Ryan
The album is a collection of
16 remixed songs, sandwiched between a skit that serves as the
title track and an outro, on which Voletta Wallace speaks. The
songs feature vocals recorded by the Notorious B.I.G. during
his underground days and during the sessions for his albums
Ready to Die (1994) and Life After Death (1997). Other
rappers, including Snoop Dogg, Sean "Puffy" Combs, Eminem,
Busta Rhymes, Method Man and Redman, added new vocals. The
album at one time was planned to posthumously unite the
Notorious B.I.G. with his West Coast rival, Tupac Shakur. The
Notorious B.I.G., who also performed under the name Biggie
Smalls, was killed March 9, 1997, as he left a party following
the Soul Train Awards in Los Angeles. He was 24. Shakur had
been killed six months earlier in a drive-by shooting in Las
Vegas. Both slayings remain unsolved. The producers of Born
Again put together a track called "House of Pain," which
featured Shakur's voice. Donald David, a lawyer for Afeni
Shakur, the rapper's mother, said he initially balked at the
idea, calling it inappropriate. But, he said, Afeni Shakur
gave her permission to Voletta Wallace in September. The song,
however, did not make it onto the album, according to label
publicist Juanita Stephens, who said she did not know the
reason for the change. It was replaced by "Who Shot Ya," a
Biggie Smalls solo track. -SonicNET

TLC's Chilli Sets
the Record Straight - Posted 12/1/1999 by Ryan
Recently Chilli has responded
to Lisa "Left Eye Lopes" challenge of a 3-cd set called "The
Challenge" in which all TLC group members would battle it out
for who is best. Raplyrix recently reported this feud that
started when T Boz and Chilli displayed to a reporter their
disgust with Lopes's crazy behavior. Chilli answered this
challenge by saying "It wouldn't have been the talk of, 'Oh my
God, are you guys braking up?' No, we're not breaking up. We
just...man, it was just one of those days, and the caught us,
me and T-Boz, on that day. You know, it's like we're sisters,"
she continued. "So, that day the two big sisters were mad at
the little sister...We all go through our little changes, we
all overall love each other. That's what so special about our
little group."

Master P's bullet
Proof Vest - Posted 11/29/1999 by Ryan
Two Harahan, La., police
officers who sold discounted bulletproof vests to rapper
Master P have been investigated by the Metropolitan Crime
Commission of Greater New Orleans. Reserve officer Lloyd
Alphonso and full-time officer Wiley Wood IV bought the ten
vests, which usually cost $800 each, at a police discount of
$450. The officers then resold the vests to Master P (née
Percy Miller), passing on some of the savings while earning a
$2,000 profit. The sale was not illegal, but aroused concerns
that the officers profited from their badges. Alphonso, who
was not part of the Harahan Police Department at the time of
the sale, has been fired, while Wood may face disciplinary
action. News of the sale broke when Master P's brother, rapper
C-Murder (née Corey Miller), was pulled over for speeding.
C-Murder was wearing one of the vests and carrying a gun, a
combination that is illegal in Louisiana. The rapper was fined
$500 as a result.
