CHUCK MAKES TWO WEB APPEARANCES IN HONOR OF BLACK HISTORY MONTH

CYBERCAST OF LECTURE AT SEATTLE'S SHORELINE COLLEGE AT
4:00pm PST FOLLOWED BY LIVE CHAT AT 6:00pm PST AT RAPSTATION.COM , IN
ASSOCIATION WITH REALNETWORKS AND LAUNCH

In celebration of Black History Month, Chuck D will participate in two web
events on the same day, Thursday, February 17th. Beginning at 4:00pm PST
with the cybercast of a lecture he recently gave at Shoreline College in
Seattle, WA, he will then segue into a live chat session with fans at
6:00pm PST. Both events can be accessed via Chuck's own
www.Rapstation.com, as well as at RealNetworks on the Real.com Guide (http:
//www.realguide.real.com/music/?s=concertseries) for the lecture, and at
LAUNCH (http://www.launch.com ) for the live chat.

In his address to Shoreline College students, Chuck D speaks in great
detail about his views of rap, race and equality in today's society, and
how corporate business, television and the media have eroded our nation's
sense of individuality. Chuck D is a highly-sought after speaker on the
college lecture circuit and has appeared at numerous schools across the
country, from Harvard to Howard, and beyond.

At 6:00pm PST, Chuck will be in the LAUNCH studios for a chat with his
fans, discussing his lecture in greater detail, and examining the
significance of Black History Month. To participate, fans are invited to
log onto LAUNCH, RealNetworks or Rapstation.com a half hour before the
session begins.

Chuck D is perhaps best known as the frontman for Public Enemy, one of the
most influential and revered rap groups in musical history. A driving
force in contemporary music since their startling debut, It Takes A Nation
of Millions To Hold Us Back, in 1988, the group has released a series of
groundbreaking, thought-provoking, and musically-intense albums, all
commercial and critical successes. Never afraid to take on a challenge,
Public Enemy stepped to the frontlines of the Internet revolution by
releasing their 1999 album, There's A Poison Going On, on the web before
selling it in retail stores.

Last September, Chuck D announced the launch of his own Rapstation.com, the
definitive rap and Hip Hop culture website, dedicated to enlightening,
entertaining and empowering the global Hip Hop community. Since then, the
site has created partnerships with some of the web's most exciting and
innovative businesses, including RealNetworks, House of Blues Digital,
Palace.com, Tucows.com and New World Culture.

Rapstation.com features free MP3 downloads, a television station, celebrity
interviews, information for aspiring artists, and a forum for political
expression and discussion. Later this week, it will begin broadcasting a
new radio station, with original programming that showcases new artists,
addresses controversial topics that affect the community, and focuses on
womens issues in Hip Hop.
