Press Contact: February 10, 2000 The Brookes Company (323) 653-4330
Rapstation.com announces a partnership with TUCOWS.com, leading off with the creation of the first-ever Rapstation channel on a music site. The highly-anticipated channel will feature a selection of the best rap music available today, where fans will be able to listen to and download MP3s from a continually changing assortment of tracks culled from Rapstation's extensive audio library. Fans can access the channel today. By establishing the channel, Rapstation will present the newest and most exciting Hip Hop to TUCOWS' established international base of millions of downloaders.
The partnership reflects the current pop music market, as rap album sales dominate the charts. This week alone, Billboard magazine's list of Top 20 albums features records by eight hip hop artists. Both Rapstation.com and TUCOWS.com foresee the new joint venture as a way to substantially increase artist exposure via the Internet, while streamlining the search for new music by regularly presenting a select of the very best new songs the Hip Hop community has to offer.
The creation of the channel on TUCOWS.com's music site (http: //music.tucows.com) is the first in an extensive series of partnerships that Rapstation.com has in development. In the near future, a number of high-traffic sites on the web will feature Rapstation channels, all offering select portions of its content.
