Though I'm a lover of all music, my first love is Hip Hop. In the last 20 years mainstream Hip Hop has been hi-jacked completely by gangstas and pimps and obsessed with my money and nothing else. Those things are important, and have their place in hip hop, but they are not the only things that have a place in Hip Hop. I want to restore balance. Artists with substance deserve the same recognition as those in the mainstream. Local artists, world artists and underground artists deserve the same rotation as those in the mainstream. After hearing my show, nobody can honestly say that hip hop is only about getting money and bitches. Hip Hop is a highly political style of music that can effect positive change. gold brains are still better than gold Chains. I may not be able to change people's conceptions of hip hop, but I can try for 2 hours a week.
